In 2005 the renovation began – many people helped along the way to get the old Crown Point Gymnasium back to its original lustre! The original Crown Point gymnasium and community center is back! On The Square Sports Academy is located in a well-known building with a strong heritage. Formerly the home of the Crown Point Community Center, the building was also used in the mid-1900’s by Crown Point High School for athletic events, gymnastics, and Theatre. Additionally, Solon Robinson, the original founder of Crown Point, had his home on this site, which is recognized by a monument at the front of the building.
The owners, Dennis & Lisa Morrow live in Crown Point and raised children in the Crown Point School system. Our mission is to create a place for both young and old to participate in sports, celebrate special occasions and enjoy community events. We will provide an authentic, friendly, clean and safe environment for family and friends to come together create memories, and strengthen their connections to the community.
Activities include:
Sports : Volleyball Leagues that are for highly competitive players as well as the recreational players. Basketball courts with scoreboards, shotclocks, setup for real games and team practices.
Soccer : Futsal practices in the winter, tennis / pickleball, dodge ball, inter-league tournaments, team practice, open gym and specific sport instruction that target specific sports and ages.
Concerts : Live Bands, music rehearsals and recitals, and other stage productions
Special Events : Individual rentals for events such as birthday parties, class reunions, school dances, gender reveal parties, dance teams showplace awards ceremonies, etc.
